NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have arrested a man in the fatal shooting of a deli employee on Tuesday in the Bronx, police say.
The deli worker was killed after being shot in the back following a dispute with customers.
The shooting tok place at about 11:30 a.m. at a deli on the corner of White Plains Road and East 216th Street in the Allerton neighborhood.
The victim was brought to Montefiore Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
He was later identified as 20-year-old Qutaish Muhammed, from Yemen.
Police say the suspects are an 18-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, who have been taken into custody despite trying to flee on foot.
Police charged 28-year-old Adrien Topping Tuesday night for murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police questioned the woman but she was released.
A witness told WABC that the woman wanted to buy a loose cigarette from the worker, but he refused. The witness then said the man shot the worker in the face, then the back.
Police say a weapon was recovered at the scene.
