
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A police officer began his Labor Day, by helping a Long Island woman in labor.
Suffolk County Police Officer Robert Burgos was there to help bring the baby into the world at approximately 2:51 a.m., after he responded to a 911 call at a home on Jennings Avenue in Patchogue.Officer Burgos assisted Edith Punin, 29, gave birth to a baby girl, Kayla Maritza, who arrived at 3:00 a.m. WABC7 reports.The mother and baby were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, and both are reported to be doing well.
