NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It's been a big month for loose animals running around New York City's highways.
Last week a lamb went for a run along the Gowanus Expressway, and on Tuesday an 8-month-old calf was wrangled on the Major Deegan.
The calf was eventually tethered to a light pole and tranquilized. DOT cameras captured police working to restrain it.
The animal has been renamed Major Deegan and is heading to the Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue in Wantage, New Jersey.
On Tuesday evening, the sanctuary tweeted video of the calf at its new home.
