
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Nassau County police have arrested a carjacker who led the police into a crash on Thursday morning.
Police say that the suspect held a man at gunpoint at about 4 a.m. near the Crunch Fitness in Bellmore, N.Y., according to WABC. The carjacker told the man to get out of the car, and took the victim's wallet and cell phone making away with the car.
The carjacker got on the Southern State Parkway but soon crashed his car into a guardrail, WABC reports. He suffered minor injuries and was arrested.
One of the police officers following him crashed a police vehicle into a pole and suffered minor injuries.
