NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for five women who they say attacked a cabbie with a liquid chemical before robbing him of hundreds of dollars.

The 47-year-old cabbie was dropping the women off near Brooklyn and Atlantic avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant last Wednesday afternoon when they attacked, police said.

The women threw an unknown chemical substance in the man’s eyes and then stole $200 in cash from his cab before taking off on foot, according to police.

The cabbie was taken to Interfaith Medical Center in stable condition.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects on Saturday. They said the women are all believed to be in their 20s.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
