NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials confirmed that a grenade found in the Bronx Wednesday morning was determined to be a cast-iron replica and deemed not a threat.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. the NYPD bomb squad responded to a report of a grenade in Pelham Bay Park near Pelham Parkway and Bruckner Boulevard, police said.
The New York City Office of Emergency Management also responded to the scene.
After an investigation, the bomb squad determined the bomb was a replica grenade was inert, authorities said.
