NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A woman who posted a video of a man repeatedly punching her seat after she reclined it on a flight is threatening to sue American Airlines.

The video went viral this week after the passenger, Wendi Williams, posted it to her Twitter account following the Jan. 31 flight from New Orleans to Charlotte.

The video has garnered more than 760,000 views on Twitter and sparked a debate about who was in the wrong—the seat-recliner or the seat-puncher.

“Here’s a great jackhole! He was angry that I reclined my seat and punched it about 9 times - HARD, at which point I began videoing him, and he resigned to this behavior. The other jackhole is the @AmericanAir flight attendant who reprimanded me and offered him rum!,” Williams wrote in the video post.

Williams is threatening to sue American Airlines because the airline told TMZ that she knocked over the man’s beverage.

She said the statement by the airline was defamatory. She also said comments made by the flight attendant on the flight were slanderous; Williams was given a “passenger disturbance notice” for refusing to stop recording the altercation.

Williams tweeted Friday: “@AmericanAir Please refrain from placing any blame about what happened to me on your awful airline with your rude flight attendant! And if I inadvertently spilled a drink on the “man” – I had NO idea that happened. Who said it did @AmericanAir?”

TMZ reported that Williams is threatening a defamation lawsuit and wants compensation but that the airline is not giving in. Now Williams has gotten an attorney and is threatening a defamation lawsuit.

Williams has also said she wants the man charged for punching her seat and the flight attendant fired for reportedly demanding she delete the video.
