
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- There is a $3,000 reward being offered by Suffolk County SPCA and the New York State Humane Association for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for throwing a puppy from a moving car on Long Island.
The SPCA said it received a call Wednesday from someone who said they witnessed someone throw an 8-week-old pit bull mix out of a dark SUV around 7 a.m. in Riverhead.
The dog was taken to an animal hospital in Riverhead.
According to the witness, the vehicle was driving east bound on Route 25, near Calverton Cemetery.
