NEWARK, N.J. — A woman and a child died in a crash in Newark late Sunday and several others were injured, officials said.
The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. near Central Avenue and Broad Street.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash or how the accident occurred. The names of the woman and child were not released.
Approximately eight people including two officers were taken to the hospital to be treated for undisclosed injuries after the incident, the Daily Voice reported.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the two victims were not related.
