NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rapper DMX remains in a “vegetative state” following a drug overdose and heart attack last week, according to his manager Nakia Walker who has been in contact with his family.
DMX is currently in a “vegetative state,” Walker told the New York Times on Sunday.
Walker also told BuzzFeed News that the “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” rapper is “still in the same condition" with "lung and brain failure and no brain activity.”
The 50-year-old rapper, born Earl Simmons is currently at White Plains Hospital in Westchester, where his family plans to hold a prayer vigil at 5 p.m. on Monday.
“We ask that you please keep Earl/DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges,” the family of the rapper wrote in a statement to People.
“We’re just praying,” Walker added, noting that some of his family members including his fiancee and mom were allowed to visit him in the hospital.
