Mario has traveled the nation speaking on the Chalupa Rules of Life to such groups and organizations as Chase Bank, American Express, The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, The Mexican-American Physicians Association, which awarded Mario their Don Quixote Award, and many other Latino civic, educational, and professional groups.
Mario is also an actor who has appeared on CBS' hit show, "Elementary" playing a news anchor. He has also appeared on “The Good Fight,” “Madam Secretary,” and “The Tick.” A stage actor with Broadway and Off-Off Broadway credits to his name, Mario was a guest performer in "Latinologues" on Broadway. His seven-year stint as a standup comic earned him a place in the Toyota Comedy Festival and the Jack Daniels Latino Comedy Series. Mario's full-length play, “Los Duendes: The Restless Spirits” won several awards and recognitions and has been performed in Houston, San Antonio, and New York City.
He has completed his second book, "Nina and the Emeralds," a Latino retelling of "The Wizard of Oz," and is currently trying to secure a publisher. An inventor and entrepreneur, Mario invented Focks™️, a new concept in socks with a drop-front section that facilitates access to the front of foot for podiatry, pedicure, and a wide range of foot care issues. www.myfocks.com An avid crafter, cook and baker who will challenge anyone to a guacamole-making contest at the drop of a jalapeño, Mario survived a one-week Basic Skills Cooking Boot Camp at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.
Mario lives in New York City with his adopted rescue dogs, Mariano Robles and Micah Robles along with two adopted, former shelter rescues, African Grey Parrots named Dusty and Becky.
