Sophia grew up in a small city in Ohio and graduated from Ashland University in Ashland Ohio. She began her career in both radio and television in Mississippi. Came back to Ohio where she worked in Youngstown and Cleveland before coming to Long Island to work at WCBS Radio for 23 years as the Long Island Correspondent. Sophia was honored to start at 1010 WINS in September 2024 and covers both Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
Sophia has been blessed with receiving many awards including the prestigious Gracie Award for her reporting as well as being recognized for her work with children with cancer and animal rescue organizations. She was also named “Reporter of the Year” two years in a row from the Press Club of Long Island.
Quick facts : Sophia used to own a DJ business where she would play music at weddings birthdays etc. and was chosen as Ms United States 2007 at the annual pageant in Las Vegas.
Sophia lives in Suffolk County with her hubby Troy and son Noah. And has rescued pets…and also pets that just wandered into her home.
