EAST GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 13-year-old boy with a BB gun robbed a man of his bicycle in broad daylight at Roosevelt Field Mall this week, Nassau County police said Friday.
The 13-year-old was among five juveniles arrested in Wednesday evening's robbery at the mall in East Garden City.
The 18-year-old victim was retrieving his bicycle from a bike rack at 5:50 p.m. when the 13-year-old threatened him with what appeared to be a black handgun, police said.
The teen and his four young accomplices then took the bike and fled the scene, according to police.
All five of them were arrested a short time later by police, who determined the gun was a BB gun.
They each face first and second-degree robbery charges. The 13-year-old also faces a charge of criminal possession of a weapon.
