Officials said cops were called to the Peninsula Boulevard and Edward Avenue intersection in Woodmere just before 11 p.m.

Police said a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Arlin Javier Aguilera was heading north on Peninsula Boulevard when it slammed into an Audi Q5 SUV turning southbound, with four passengers inside the vehicle.

The 15-year-old, who remains unidentified, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The three other passengers and the SUV driver were also hospitalized after the crash.

Authorities said the 38-year-old driver is in critical condition, while the other passengers suffered "less serious injuries."

Aguilera, 34, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault.

Aguilera and his passenger were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
