
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Two New Jersey schools were placed on lockdown Monday morning while searching for a parent who may have been armed, authorities said.
Officials were searching for the parent of a child at one of the two schools located on Bright Street in Jersey City, officials said.
Three arrests were made in connection with the incident outside the schools, officials said.
According to Jersey City police, two female parents were arrested for simple assault, one of whom allegedly deployed a taser.
A male parent who allegedly showed a handgun was gone on arrival, officials said.
Upon further investigation, JCPD officers located the man in Hoboken, where he was arrested.
His charges include causing or risking widespread injury or damage, aggravated assault, possession of weapon, endangering welfare of children and firearm on an educational institutional.
No serious injuries were reported and an investigation remains ongoing.
The Jersey City Police Department will maintain an increased police presence on site as a precaution until further notice.
