PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Three men were sentenced for beating a 19-year-old outside a Pleasantville strip club who was later found dead in a nearby marsh last year, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Jamaul Timberlake, 31, and brothers John Hands, 25, and Garnell Hands, 30, jumped Irving Mayren-Guzman in the parking lot of Centerfolds Cabaret after he was kicked out of the club on Jan. 23, 2022.

Authorities did not detail what happened inside the club that led to the teen’s ejection.

After suffering multiple blows to the head, Mayren-Guzman wandered off without his coat or cellphone.

A volunteer search party found his body in a nearby marsh two days later. He died from some combination of hypothermia, drowning and excessive alcohol consumption, according to officials.

The men were arrested the day after Mayren-Guzman’s body was discovered and charged with assault and conspiracy.

Pleasantville voted to permanently close the club after backlash over the incident from town residents.

Timberlake and John Hands were each sentenced to four years in prison. Garnell Hands was sentenced to five years.
