EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (1010 WINS) — The American Dream mall reopened Friday with normal business hours and "increased security and police presence" after one man was seriously injured in a shooting.
"At approximately 5:50 p.m. troopers from the New Jersey State Police Meadowlands Station responded to the report of a shooting inside the American Dream," State Police said late Thursday. "The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to an area hospital."
The victim's identity nor a motive for the shooting has not been released at this time.
Mall officials said in a statement that there is "no cause for concern" about Friday's reopening.
"The safety and security of our guests, tenants and team members continues to be our top priority," the mall said in a statement Friday. "We will continue to have increased security and police presence throughout the property."

Following reports of an active shooting incident at the popular mall on Thursday, police determined that the mall was "secure" and that patrons were being escorted out.
Sgt. Alejandro Goez, a spokesperson for the state police, told NJ Advance that the shooting happened in "a retail area," and not in the entertainment areas of the mall.
"The mall was locked down, a complete search and clearance of the mall was done in order to safely remove all the patrons," Goez said. "That was completed last night. That’s how they’re able to reopen today."
No arrests have been made at this time.
CBS 2 News reports that state police are still searching for three suspects.
