
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 3-month-old puppy was stolen from a Long Island pet store Tuesday and police are searching for the man responsible, authorities said.
The Havanese puppy was taken from Selmer’s Pet Land located at 125 East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station around 12:35 p.m., officials said.
The man put the dog in his backpack and left the store, fleeing on a bicycle, according to police. The puppy is microchipped.

Cops said the man they are looking for is white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and was wearing a purple jacket and yarmulke.
