Couple in their 90s killed in crash in NJ

CRANBURY, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A New Jersey couple was killed in a two-vehicle crash over the weekend, authorities said.

At approximately 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, Edward Mitnowski was driving a subcompact SUV east on Station Way in Cranbury when it veered into the westbound lane, struck a car, and partially overturned, officials said in a statement.

Mitnowski, 96, was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. His wife, Rita Mitnowski, 92, died while being transported to the hospital by emergency workers.

The 38-year-old man driving the other car suffered minor injuries but refused treatment.
