Cyclist, 53, dies after motorcyclist hits him on LI: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A cyclist died after a motorcycle driver crashed into him on Long Island on Tuesday, police said.

Pedro Espinal-Estevez, 53, was riding his bike across Great Neck Road, near Campagnoli Avenue in Copiague, around 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday when a man riding a 2009 Harley Davidson north on Great Neck Road hit him, Suffolk County police said.

Espinal-Estevez, who lived in Copiague, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The 34-year-old motorcycle driver was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. He had not been charged in connection with Espinal-Estevez’ death as of Wednesday afternoon.
