NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- The Newark Police are investigating a triple shooting that injured a 6-year-old girl and two adults on Tuesday night, according to officials.
The victims were shot at approximately 7 p.m. on South Orange Avenue, near South 9th Street, authorities said.
An officer rushed the girl to University Hospital in a cruiser, police said.
The child suffered a collapsed lung and is expected to recover.
“That's an ongoing investigation. The 6-year-old was not killed. She's in the hospital recovering. She had a collapsed lung. She's going to make it,” Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said.
The conditions of the two adults weren’t immediately known.
