NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A homeless woman was sexually assaulted as she slept on a sidewalk in Midtown early Sunday, police said.

The suspect approached the 52-year-old woman and proceeded to expose himself and perform a sex act on West 31st Street, between Eight Avenue and Ninth Avenue, around 12:15 a.m.
Police said he then fled to parts unknown after the victim resisted.
The victim was transported by EMS to Lenox Health Greenwich Village Hospital for evaluation.
