ISLANDIA, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Suffolk County police plan to extradite a detainee to Arizona after they found an outstanding warrant for assault with a deadly weapon after arresting an Islandia man for drug possession, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office.
Tyler Winter, a 32-year-old who was arrested Monday for possession of a controlled substance, is wanted in Arizona for assault with a deadly weapon and other charges.
“Our investigators often work collaboratively with officers from other jurisdictions — both locally and from other states,” said Suffolk County Sheriff Dr. Errol D. Toulon, Jr. “I am proud of the hard work of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Bureau in taking this man into custody and returning him to Arizona where he will answer for his crimes.”
Winter was arraigned on Tuesday. It’s unclear when the extradition will take place.
