SHIRLEY, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A cable repairman for Optimum helped a friend escape police after he was caught with a ghost gun in his hand, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Police said they spotted Borndivine Intelligence Jackson, 26, with a gun in his hand while investigating an unrelated incident on June 22 near a deli in Shirley.

Jackson allegedly fled and ditched the gun in the woods. Police later recovered the weapon — a loaded 9 mm gun with no serial number.

Video captured by doorbell security cameras and Optimum’s own in-van surveillance system show Danyel Anderson, 21, recognized Jackson and invited him into the van.

Optimum’s surveillance system showed Jackson explained the situation in detail to Anderson, who then drove him away from the police, according to prosecutors.

Both men were arraigned on Friday. Jackson was ordered held on $1 million cash bail for the weapons charge, and Anderson was released with a court date for hindering prosecution and obstructing governmental administration.

Altice USA, the company that owns Optimum, told Newsday Anderson was working for a third-party contractor during the incident, and that he was "immediately removed from the field following notice of the event.”
