The teenager, who is not a student at the school and lives in Bay Shore, threatened to “remake Texas” at Commack Middle School during an Instagram live stream, officials said.

He was ostensibly referring to the May 24 shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas in which 19 students and two teachers were killed.

SCP detectives arrested the boy and charged him with making a terrorist threat and aggravated harassment, according to police.

The massacre in Texas has school districts and parents across the country nervous at the potential for violence and searching for answers as to how to protect children from mass shootings.

Threats against schools in the Tri-State area have increased since the Uvalde shooting. In Suffolk County alone, police have received sixteen reports of threats and made two arrests.
