CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A 19-year-old woman pleaded guilty on Thursday to luring a 15-year-old boy into a fatal ambush by MS-13 gang members in 2019 when she was 16.

Lidia DelCarmen-Rodriguez lured Jasson Medrano-Molina and two other boys, who she believed to be members of a rival gang, into woods in Central Islip where two MS-13 members were waiting with a handgun and a bat.
Two of the boys successfully fled, but Medrano-Molina was shot multiple times at close range.
She pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting murder in a Central Islip federal court.
“The defendant today admitted that she helped carry out a despicable crime by luring a 15-year-old boy to his violent death as part of the MS-13 gang’s agenda to attack and kill their rivals,” stated U.S. Attorney Breon Peace. “It is my sincere hope that the family of this young victim can find some solace in knowing that the individuals responsible for this crime have been brought to justice.”
One of her co-conspirators, Jose Omar Sorto Portillo, pleaded guilty to murder in October 2021.
