Officials said the boy was with his mother in Pennsylvania at the time of the alleged carjacking.

The car was located later in the Bronx and police are investigating the situation.

Police were searching for a 2005 gold Honda Accord that was taken at First Avenue and East 117th Street at around 6 a.m.

The child was reportedly in the back seat of the vehicle.

The boy's father told police he was stopped at a red light when his vehicle was stolen by two men and at least one of them was armed.

The father told police that one of the men threatened to shoot him.

The vehicle has a New York license plate number KNB1341, and was last seen driving into the Bronx, officials said.

Officials also released a stock image of the vehicle for reference.
