
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two men were charged after they led police on a pursuit, driving against traffic, then abandoned their vehicle on the Manhattan Bridge Tuesday night, authorities said.
The 13-block chase to the mouth of the bridge began at approximately 6:30 p.m. when officials recognized the car in connection with a string of robberies, and attempted to pull the vehicle over on Spring Street and Greene Street in Soho, sources told the New York Post.

The suspects drove east toward Brooklyn on the westbound lanes of the East River crossing, during rush-hour traffic then abandoned their Toyota Scion with Pennsylvania plates on the bridge.
One of the men allegedly jumped to the bridge's lower level then crossed the subway tracks, the outlet added.
Police caught up with the suspects - Maurice White and Isaac Bones on foot.
White, who was the driver, was charged with reckless endangerment, driving without a license, obstruction of governmental administration.
He was also charged in connection to five robberies of handbag stores.
Bones was charged with obstruction of governmental administration.
Both suspects are Mount Vernon residents.
The FNDY was also at the scene to put out a small fire in the car’s engine that was caused by mechanical issues.
