NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two men on an MTA bus were wounded by stray bullets Thursday morning after a gunman opened fire on a Queens street, police said.
The bystanders were aboard a Q8 bus shortly after 9 a.m. when shots were fired near 148th Street and Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica, police told WABC.
At least one bullet hit a window of the bus and then the two men, according to the report.
The victims, said to be 20 and 66 years old, were both struck in their arms, police said. They were taken to Jamaica Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The gunman was firing at a man who'd just gotten on the bus, but he missed his target and instead shot the two bus riders, according to the report.
A suspect—identified by multiple outlets as 43-year-old Melvin Adams—was arrested by officers, who allegedly found a gun in a backpack he had dropped.
