NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating after two men stole a car in the Bronx Sunday morning with a woman and a child still inside.
At about 12:25 a.m., a 39-year-old man left a Toyota RAV4 running as he went into a store near Olmstead Avenue and Unionport Road in Parkchester, officials said.
According to police, two men jumped into the front seat of the car, which was occupied by a 73-year-old woman, a 37-year-old woman and a 1-year-old baby girl.
The 37-year-old was able to get out of the car without incident, while the thieves took off with baby and the 73-year-old woman still inside, cops said.
They were let out at Rosedale Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway without injury, authorities said.
The car was later abandoned outside of 1095 University Ave., police said.
There were no injuries reported.
No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.
