2 sought in alleged Bronx hate crime robbery

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was robbed in the Bronx by two men last month as they spewed anti-gay language in an incident that is being investigated as a hate crime, police said.

The Feb. 15 robbery occurred at 2:42 p.m. at the intersection of Davison Avenue and West Burnside Avenue where the two suspects punched 49-year-old victim as he was walking down the street, authorities said.

The two thieves then stole the victim’s jewlery and cellphone, valued at $1,500, all while saying anti-gay slurs, officials said.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene but suffered pain and bruising, police said.

The suspects are described as 20-30 years old, both last seen wearing masks and all dark clothing.
