8 people, including firefighter injured in Brooklyn building blaze: FDNY

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — At least eight people including a firefighter were injured in a blaze at a Brooklyn apartment building late Sunday night, the FDNY said.

At around 11:20 p.m., fire officials received a call for the fire in a seven-story apartment complex located at 400 Herkimer St., near Kingston Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

There were 60 firefighters from 12 units who responded to fight the blaze, according to the FDNY.

There were seven civilians injured including one person who was hospitalized with serious injuries, authorities said.

The fire was placed under control just before 1 a.m., according to fire officials.
