NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- TSA officials discovered a checked bag filled with about 90 pounds of weed at John F. Kennedy Airport last week, authorities announced on Monday.
"During routine screening, @TSA officers at @JFKairport came across a checked bag filled with 30 bags of marijuana last week, each weighing about 3 lbs. TSA isn't looking for drugs, but when TSA comes across them, police are notified," TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein tweeted.
Officials were notified and Port Authority Police arrested the traveler, Farbstein added.
No other information was immediately released by authorities, including what charges the traveler faces and what happened to the drugs.
