Amazon worker, 24, fatally struck by driver at Staten Island fulfillment center

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An Amazon worker was fatally struck by the retail giant’s Staten Island fulfillment center late Saturday night, police said.

The 24-year-old woman was attempting to cross 5th Street at the Bloomfield complex when she was struck by a 19-year-old driver of a Honda Accord around 11:37 p.m., police said.

Police responding found the woman with trauma to her head and body. She was transported to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver remained at the scene.

Further details of the crash were not immediately clear.
