Arrest made in fatal shooting of man attempting to buy motorcycle in the Bronx: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 23-year-old man was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a man attempting to purchase motorcycles in the Bronx last week, according to the NYPD.

Manuel Reyes was arrested and faces several charges including murder and manslaughter, officials said.

Police responded to a 911 call of shots fired at East 144th Street and Exterior Street at approximately 3:40 p.m. on May 18.

Upon arrival, officers found 20-year-old Jefferson Hernandez with gunshot wounds to the head.

A firearm was recovered on the scene, the NYPD said.

EMS transported Hernandez to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.

According to authorities, Hernandez was one of three men who went to purchase two motorcycles through Facebook.
