Attacker slashes man, 64, across nose with box cutter on subway in Lower Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was slashed across the nose with a box cutter while aboard a subway train in Lower Manhattan early Monday, authorities said.

At around 1:20 a.m., the victim, 64, was aboard a northbound 4 train at the Bowling Green station when he became involved in an argument with another man, officials said.

According to police, the dispute escalated, and the attacker brandished a box cutter and slashed the victim across the nose.

The attacker, who was described as a man in his 30s, fled the scene.

The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition.
