NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An 11-year-old boy was slashed during an attempted robbery by two thieves at his uncle's bodega in Alphabet City Wednesday afternoon, according to a new report.

One of the suspects allegedly cut the boy's right hand inside of the Avenue D corner bodega — after his 27-year-old uncle, a store clerk, confronted the pair, The New York Post reports.

The robbers then reportedly fled down Avenue D and headed north on East 4th Street.

The Post reports the injured boy was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to recover. No arrests were made as of Thursday morning.
