
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two people, including a 15-year-old boy, were killed in a high-speed crash on the Belt Parkway in Queens late Sunday, authorities said.
At about 10:45 p.m., three people were inside a white BMW sedan traveling east on the Belt Parkway near the Farmers Boulevard exit in Springfield Gardens when the collision occurred.
According to officials, the 19-year-old driver was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and slammed into a divider.
A 15-year-old passenger was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene, the NYPD said.
Another passenger, a man believed to be in his late teens to early 20s, was taken to Jamaica Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver was hospitalized in stable condition officials said.
Police are working to determine what caused the driver to lose control.
