NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The 18-year-old man accused of driving 15-year-old Matthew Godwin when he opened fire in the fatal stray bullet shooting of 11-year-old Kyhara Tay in the Bronx last week surrendered to authorities on Monday.
Omar Bojang is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon charges, police said.
Sources earlier told 1010 WINS that Bojang turned himself into Legal Aid and was due to be brought to the 41st Precinct in the Bronx for processing.
Cops allege Bojang was driving the scooter that Godwin was sitting on when he fired. The bullet then traveled about a half-block away and struck Tay in the abdomen. She suffered critical injuries and died at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln.
Godwin was brought into the NYPD's 41st Precinct stationhouse around 2 a.m. Friday. The 15-year-old faces charges of murder, manslaughter and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said they had an idea of who they were looking for and then got a tip the teen was at a friend’s house.
The NYPD released video last week showing the two suspects on the scooter near 1015 Fox St.
The suspects were chasing another male around 4:50 p.m. Monday near Fox Street and 165th Street in the Foxhurst section, police said.

At a rally last Wednesday, the girl’s father, Sokpini Tay, demanded justice, saying through tears that he's “never going to talk to or see her again.”
“I’m going to be living in pain the rest of my life,” he said. “I want that person to suffer in pain.”
