NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking to identify a group of men and women who are accused of violently robbing a Bronx cab driver on Monday night, authorities said.

According to officials, a 49-year-old cab driver picked up two women and two children in the vicinity of 200 Baychester Avenue in Baychester at approximately 10 p.m. and drove them to 1575 East 174th Street, where one of the women paid him $20 for the fare.

Shortly thereafter, one of the women told the driver that she wanted her money back and a verbal altercation ensued.

As they argued, three men exited a white sedan that was parked at the location. Two of the men entered the rear of the taxi and one remained outside next to the woman, the NYPD said.

The woman then punched the driver in the face and took back the $20 from his hand while the men in the rear of the car took $350 from the victim's jacket pocket, police said.

The two women fled into 1575 East 174th Street and the three men fled the scene inside of the white sedan northbound on Bronx River Avenue, authorities said.

The women are described as light-skinned, approximately 25 to 30-years-old. The men are described as dark-skinned.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
