NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Bronx gas station clerk was shot in the head and critically injured Tuesday evening by a shooter who remained at large Wednesday, police said.
The 43-year-old man was shot just after 7 p.m. as he was working at the Sunoco at Boston Road and Astor Avenue in the Allerton section.
The victim was rushed in critical condition to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting. Sources told WCBS-TV that it didn’t appear to be a robbery.
No arrests had been reported as of Wednesday as the investigation continued.
