Robert Wright, 33, was arrested Friday and later hit with charges of manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, assault and failure to exercise control of a minor.
Wright initially brought his baby daughter, Aniyah Wyhatt-Wright, to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center last Tuesday as she was suffering an apparent seizure, police said.
The girl was later found to have bleeding on the brain and went into cardiac arrest. She was transported to Cohen Children's Medical Center in Queens, where she was pronounced dead on Wednesday, according to police.
An investigation led police to believe she’d suffered blunt force trauma after being struck in the back of the head at her family’s home on Osborn Street in Brownsville.
Wright was arrested on Friday evening after allegedly admitting during questioning that he hit his daughter, police said.
