NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man who they say robbed or attempted to rob eight Brooklyn businesses in the span of four days this month.

The NYPD released surveillance images of a suspect Wednesday in a robbery spree between Jan. 2 and Jan. 5 spanning several neighborhoods from Flatbush to Cypress Hills.
The thief usually "simulated" a gun during the holdups, but police said he pulled a firearm in one robbery and threatened to shoot workers in some of them.
He struck at all hours of the day, police said, targeting a cafe on Flatbush Avenue in the middle of the afternoon, as well as a gas station on Bedford Avenue at 1 a.m.
Even though some of the employees refused to hand over cash, police said the robber has netted nearly $2,000 in cash from others, including $1,300 from a deli on Nostrand Avenue in East Flatbush on the evening of Jan. 2.
Among the other businesses targeted were a Jamaican restaurant and a grocery store in East Flatbush, as well as a deli in Flatbush and a bookstore in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, according to police.
The crook also struck in Cypress Hills, where he held up a Golden Krust restaurant and stole $300 on the afternoon of Jan. 4, police said.
No injuries were reported in the robberies, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
