NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A woman suffered a life-threatening head injury after she collided with a bicyclist while jogging in Central Park, police said Thursday.

The 34-year-old woman was jogging southbound on West Drive around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday as the 50-year-old bicyclist rode in the bike path in the same direction.

As the two of them approached W. 66th Street, just south of Tavern on the Green, they collided, police said.

The jogger was thrown to the ground, where she struck her head.
