NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The 15-year-old boy whose arm was severed by an R train at a Queens subway station Monday morning was attempting to subway surf, sources told 1010 WINS.

The teen was struck around 10:24 a.m. as the northbound train left the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station on 74th Street and Broadway, police said.

Cops said he was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue for treatment.

According to MTA officials, northbound M/R trains resumed making local stops at the station just after noon on Monday, but E/F/M/R trains were experiencing delays at the station in both directions.
