
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Columbia University announced its plans to hold six additional graduation ceremonies for students according to their race, income, and other aspects of how they self-identify.
According to the school's website, the additional graduation ceremonies for Columbia College, Columbia Engineering, General Studies, and Barnard College at the end of April will be held for Native, Asian, "Latinx" and Black students taking place.
Another "FLI Graduation" ceremony will be held for "first-generation and/or low-income community" as well as a "Lavender" graduation for the "LGBTIAQ+ community."
The ceremonies will take place online due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The university is also hosting a general commencement ceremony on April 30.
