Commuter slashes man spitting on Manhattan subway passengers, police arrest both

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 19-year-old man cut a 23-year-old man who was spitting on subway commuters on a Manhattan D train Wednesday morning, according to police.

The confrontation took place as the southbound train approached the 59th Street-Columbus Circle station around 10:33 a.m., officials said.

The incensed 19-year-old pulled a “cutting instrument” on the spitting man and slashed his arm and back, according to authorities.

The 23-year-old only suffered minor lacerations. Emergency responders took him to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.

Police arrested both men, and charges are pending for each.
