NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is now investigating an attack on a 70-year-old man as a homicide after he died from his injuries eight months later.

Police found Mario Ocampo lying on the ground at the corner of Riverdale Avenue and Rockaway Avenue in Brownsville with lacerations on his face and head on July 12, 2021.
EMS rushed him to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he died from his injuries on March 5.
Investigators said the injuries were consistent with a punch and subsequent fall.
Authorities announced police will investigate the attack as a homicide on Sunday.
No arrests have been made and an investigation into the attack is ongoing.
