NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Dozens of dogs were rescued from “deplorable and dangerous” conditions at a home in Queens on Wednesday, and their owner was arrested, police said.
The NYPD tweeted late Wednesday that police were alerted about the dogs “living in inhumane conditions” at a home in Jamaica.
Police worked with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to save the 25 pit bulls, who didn’t have food or clean water, WABC reported.
Their owner was charged with animal neglect, police said.
The ASPCA told PIX11 that it was “conducting veterinary forensic exams on the dogs and providing them with much-needed medical care, behavioral treatment and enrichment.”
