Driver who crashed into vehicle on Queens street critically injured

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A driver is in critical condition after he struck another vehicle on a Queens street on Monday, authorities said.

At about 1:15 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision at 12th Street and 40th Avenue in Dutch Kills.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 2019 Honda PCX traveling east on 40th Avenue struck a 2007 Nissan Maxima which was traveling north on 12th Street.

The 37-year-old man driving the Honda was transported to New York Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad.
